Looking to buy a new rig in the next few months.
Unsure weather to buy a second hand steadicam, ive seen a few SK2's recently, or go for the new V-25, which looks very very tempting indeed...
anyone used both v-25 + SK2? Any thoughts...?

Hey Morgs,
As you know i have an Sk2 for sale. But to be honest, i would go for the V25 if you have the money for it. I have used both rigs.
Sk2 cant have dynamic balance, ( only when your lucky ) The V25 can
Sk2 cant extend the post, the V25 can
Sk2 takes one battery, V25 takes 3
Sk2 Gimbal needs wrench, V25 is toolless
Sk2 has only one power and one video out, V25 has 3 vid and 4 power
Etc etc
V25 takes more weight, feels better, newer technique.

id read a few things about the sk2 that kinda put me off.
hmm, think i want the v25. looks like great value for money. plus i already own anton bauer batteries, and the introductory price is just too tempting!

“I’m taking the MK-V course next month so I guess I’ll wait till after that."
Hehe, so you WILL be buying an MK-V then:D
It's all good. I'm just waiting for Howard to sort out my sled at the moment; I’m getting very excited about its arrival. I shall share some piccys when it’s all done.
Good luck, and enjoy the course. It’s money well spent, you will learn loads.

Better not wait too long on the V25. I recieved mine last month and David Stevens at Glidecam told me that only the first 100 will be at that price and he expects that they'll be gone by the end of March. The V25 is definitely the better option if only for the dual arm and nothing else.
Cheers.
