Hi Guys,

I thought I would share my new docking bracket with you!!!! Its a 'work in progress' really, but I mentioned it to Ant the other day, and he was interested in what I had done.

Basically, My Basson docking bracket had two problems; 1. it is made of steel, and weighs shed loads, 2. There is not enough distance from the balancing stud to the stand, to spin the sled. So I have made this aluminium one. It obviously needs finishing with paint, or preferably Hard Black Anodized when I have enough bits to do!

As you can see, I have drilled plenty of tool holes, but I plan to make my rig pretty much tool free!!! I also need to make the balancing stud for the end. I have used ball spring plungers to 'lock' the Pin in place. These are a grub screw with a spring-loaded ball at the end. As you push the pin in, the ball locates in the grove at the end of the pin. As you pull it out, it prevented from coming right out by a second ball spring. A little chain stops you from dropping the whole thing at the wrong time!!!!

Any comments on it so far?

Hi

I have the new upgrade bracket the make (as you have probably seen).

I will be adding the ball catch thingy on my plate asap, as I just stick a long allen key through at the moment! I've had a couple of times when i've knocked it out!!!!

Ant

P.s. What do R.S. call them so I can find them in the catalogue.

Hi Jason,

I think its a bit of an improvment on the Basson Job. Maybe you could give us a close-up of the real makoy (To which we all dream about!!!)

Trust me, mine isn't all it's cracked up to be, just a basic stand, not even a spin bracket that allows you to spin the rig! I will post some pics though, just so you know what mine's all about.

What do you reckon to the new style forum?

Jase :D

Hi

Jason If I have some ally left over do you want me to mod yours? I could do it so it's reversable to go back to standard. If the design is how I remember it?
