Hey guys, just signed up an thought i'd say a quick hello. This forum and the HBS site were really handy when i was looking to buy a rig an give the whole steadi thing a crack, so cheers :). I ended up buying Mike M's V25 with a mate that was for sale here and i'm really stoked with it (although i don't have any comparisons really). Purchased the steadicam operators handbook to get started as i don't know any zen masters and otherwise it's all gravy :) However i have plenty questions to tickle your brains with. Sweet.

Hi Phil,

Welcome to the forum and the world of Steadicam. That's a great little rig you've got there and you're going to love it. Just keep an eye on the bearings in the elbow joints of the arm as the early ones had a habit of popping out. I ended up sending mine back to Glidecam to have them all replaced and upgraded back when I had a V25. Also make sure the thumb screws that hold your sliding battery bars at the base of sled are always tight as they have a habit of working loose and falling out.
There are a lot of very experienced operators on this forum that are more than happy to help you out with any issues you may have and if you need any advice don't hesitate to give me a call. My contact details are on my website.

Cheers,

Marty

Hey Marty thanks for the heads up regarding the V25 :) Nice to know you've used the same rig earlier on. Checked out the music vid you just posted too very impressive! The compositing and effects link was an eye opener too. Cheers again for the welcome!
